Personally I'm very happy with the adaptive cruise control in my 2018. I was not expecting it to provide collision avoidance and would not be happy if more brake force was applied. Unless it has changed since 2017, you can change the settings on the lane keep assist to stop the audible warning or the system correcting you. On my 17 Grand Touring the only thing I have active is a visual alert in the HUD. No sound, no intervention.

The emergency braking has taught me to keep a little more distance from the car in front of me. My setting is one bar back from the max setting.
