Default Post re: Ottocast Disappeared? Censored?

I think a moderator deleted my very first post. ?????

I just joined this forum. I've made one post about my experience regarding an item that turns wired Car Play into wireless by adding a simple plug-in item that uses Bluetooth. I used the name of the item and said where I bought it but did not provide a link. I'm not affiliated with the manufacturer, just a one-time user/purchaser of an item that seems to be working. I was trying to be helpful!

Please tell me why I can no longer find my post!

There are other people who say their posts disappear. Who is the moderator? Who decides what's worthy or breaks the "rules"? If this is going to happen, I won't waste my time on this site or forum.

Well, when your very first post to the forum is an advertisement, no matter how well crafted, I'm glad the moderators remove that kind of spam.

Probably because all of those wireless carplay adapters are made in china using hacked code to bypass apple restrictions and are complete garbage. I've tried a couple and they either caused my headunit to completely crash or crashed themselves multiple times a drive. Support is sketchy as well and if you do have to ship something back to them they either lose it or tell you that it works fine there so it must be your problem, no refund.

Don't bother.

I didn't see your post so I can't comment on that.

Around here posts disappear all the time, most times without warning or explanation.

If rules are broken and a post is deleted because of the broken rule and the poster isn't told why the post was removed, how is the poster suppose to learn what can be posted and what can't?

Advertisement? Tom, surely I'm not the first person to use a product name for something they want to discuss! It may have been my first post, but I'd been reading the forum for a few months. I've seen other people use product names and links to specific items,(which I did not do). I find your comment to be rude. I'm sure you think you are a veteran on the forum having posted 82 times. Should we all bow down to you?

I was genuinely excited to find something that worked for my car and the wired Car Play issue. I thought I'd share the news. Apparently, I need to find a forum where everyone is nice.

First forum?

There are jackasses everywhere. You won't find a single place online where EVERYONE is nice. Don't let it get to you.

I remember your first post and I believe I even commented on that one too about my experience with these types of devices. Didn't appear to be an advertisement to me.

I don't understand what would have happened either. I read your other post. Not a shill post at all, just relaying your experience. I have talked about my Odero all weather mats many times as they were a great deal for what they offer. Doesn't make my post illegal from what I can see. Some of my posts do seem to disappear when I get into disagreements with other forum members though.

I've noticed that as well. Sometimes, I receive a private message informing me of some rule I violated and of which I was unaware, but most of the time, they just disappear.

I've been a moderator on other forums and we always notified the poster why a post was deleted or edited. In the long run, it is less work for the moderator as the users learn the rules.

Kate,

Try this forum instead.

(1) Mazda CX-5 Forum | Mazdas247

It's a very friendly place and you won't see posts disappear for no apparent reason. If a post is removed because of a rule violation, the violator is notified why said post was removed, unlike this forum.

Another thing that you'll notice at the other forum is that the moderators do not pick favorites, as you'll see done here on this forum.
