Guess again. Interesting video but no, not seen that before.
It was a joke. But here is the thing at least 2 times in the last decade at SEMA there where top bran oil filter companies that put-on seminars about their product. Part of those seminars were testing program that they do to both test and compare filtration performance. Sure, these are all for the purpose of carrying their product line, but all had empirical tested and verified through carful-controlled testing. There were also some like me that questioned the parts used for the same part number but manufactured in different countries for them. As you can contact and ask them yourself, they said that all the oil filters have specific end specification, but the material used to assemble them may vary. They frequent pull random samples for testing to verify that their own specification and filtration specification are exactly as the product was engineered and manufactured for the market.
As I started my response in this thread there is nothing really new to offer about oil filter information as this is so used up on all forms of engine and vehcle forums there is nothing new to say. But there is still so many DIY that are pulled into their own beliefs about things and post on these threads.... hmmm like maybe u? lol
Just an FYI, I engineered and developed a oil lubricating system for a specific aftermarket super charger system that has an independent oil pump, oil reservoir and oil filter system. I have in my position several engineering and specification from top brand Oil Filter manufactures that I mentioned earlier (which is why I posted them) and know their exact filtering levels and their exact filtering levels based on the material I used in all the parts of my system to know exactly which would do the best service for my application and parts material. Now there is something no one will find on the internet. And the only way to get that from any oil filter manufacture is you need to be an engineer and specifically in the business that needs and wants to use their oil filters as part of a kit .
And just so you know there were a few that just said NO we don't give or offer that kind of technical data and specification. I won't name who turned me down but yup DENSO was one of those. I didn't really mind because I and we rarely use that brand anyway.
