Old model Mazda 3 (BK spec) had the oil filter access hole miss aligned, they fixed it with the latest Mazda 3 (BL spec). No need to remove the stone tray now.

We just brought the new CX-5 home this weekend, we love it! I do all my own oil changes, but I've scouted the parts places and no one seem to stock 0-20 oil. How about filters? I use NAPA gold or Puroilater.

I recommend only using genuine Mazda oil & oil filters. Mazda spent a lot of money developing the new engines and the correct oil to match.

I agree, more especially the filter, but I know Walmart carries a couple 0-20 options.

Agreed, I will only use only Mazda specified (both) oil and filters.

Is there a site where the filters can be purchased, other than from the dealer?

What grade oil does Mazda USA recommend for standard petrol powered car?
Over here in NZ is 5w30.

Which car?

For CX-5 2.0L gas engine in North America:

0W-20 full synthetic. "Mazda genuine oil is used in your Mazda vehice and 0W-20 lubricant is recommended." "If OW-20 is not available, 5W-20 may be used however, it must be replaced OW-20 at the next oil change." Recommended viscosity: SAE 0W-20 "For maintenance service, Mazda recommends Mazda genuine parts and Castrol".

Can I get a part number for the filter?
