Default No XM Radio?

Can anyone confirm that they've removed the satellite radio from the Touring model with the Preferred SV package? This is kind of throwing me in a tizzy I use the XM all the time.

Check the Mazda website for the model options for your area. Mazda shuffles trim levels continuously. They seem to be dropping Bose and XM from the middle trims and adding a sunroof from what I recall from the Mazda3 and CX-30.

It is not available on my Carbon Turbo and I wish it was. Apparently You can use it if you get the Sirius App on your phone. I'm showing my age, but I wish they would still offer the CD player.I think both should be standard equipment on ALL models.

Yeah that's one of those things you *could* through your phone but it's not really ideal. I wonder if not too many people subscribe anymore and they just decided it's not worth the cost of putting the hardware in or what. Kinda the opposite of what they're doing with the nav systems.

Greg,
Agree - besides the higher subscription rate via phone, I figured it might not be as good as having Sirius on board. Just leased a 2021 Crosstrek and it's standard.

Not sure what you mean about the NAV system.

Default 2021 CX 5 Touring w/preferred package

I can confirm on a 2021 CX 5 Touring with the preferred technology package there are no provisions for Sirius XM or Aux input.
I got mine just before T-Giving and I overlooked that fact.
Android car play works well and you can stream Sirius and your own music library through that interface.
Everything was integrated in my 2013 Kia Optima, I do miss the integration!

That's a bummer. I got hooked on the XM in my Mazda3 and have been using it for the last few years in my Sonata too. Although since I've been working from home for the last 9 months I don't get much time to listen anymore. Streaming it seems ok but boy it sure is a lot easier doing it right on the radio. (As you said, Hyundai/Kia has done a great job of integrating everything)

Default Higher trim levels

I do believe it's available on the Grand Touring and higher trim levels!

Yup. You have to go up an extra step or two now. I know it doesn't make sense economically but I wish they'd have more options available on different trim lines. My 2015 Mazda3 Touring was perfect for me with the Preferred Package. Cloth seats, Bose System, XM, Sunroof, I wish I could get that on the CX5! (Although I really don't need a sunroof either. I think I can count the number of times I've used them on my last 2 cars on 1 or 2 hands.)
