not safe but a lot of people do it anyway (including myself)...like speeding which i do most days as well, as do a lot of other people...if i was super worried about vehicular safety i would sell my scooter first cause that is the least safe vehicle to operate that i currently own

The floor mat of the design you choose do can and often do shift and has shown to be a concern with drive-by-wires. Don't fool yourself. However, I do use a similar design and top recognized brand in my Mazda.

will let you know if they ever shift...but doubt it

As for your thought about the cables all over the dash and front display.... UNORGANIZED and easily can be cleaned up! But it does take a little effort and extension of some of the cables.
Do we still stick things on the windshield these days? LOL

as i said...effective...that's all the matters to me

Anyway it all a distraction in your cockpit arrangement that is IMHO.

not a distraction for me so it's good to go

As for your seat covers you still could have done a better job of finding better ones for your purpose or simply invest in having at least the rear custom made to tailor your needs. Really dude they look like a sack of potatoes in your beautiful Mazda!
Just to be clear i rarely ever mention the mods done by owners on any forum but those damn seat cover are just so bad looking wow I had to comment! LOL Don't take it personal I get they serve only a purpose and nothing more. LOL

once again, as i said...effective...that's all the matters to me...to me a car is a tool to get me from a to b...nothing more...it's not a hobby for me...so for the most part i only do minor things that i consider important that serve a purpose for me...not going to put a ton of time and money into something that depreciates so quickly...doesn't seem like a wise financial decision imo

A suggestion you should consider is to get a carpet in black dash cover. I know some think they look bad but ALL windshield on many platforms reflect glare which can be a PIA visually at time of the suns position relative to the horizon. A Dash cover made with the carpet in BLACK reduces the reflective glare measured at 80%+

Oh and for you an extra bonus feature you can hide in part some of your ape hanging power cables under it. LOL

have seen them but i agree that they look awful...i haven't had any noticeable issues with glare with sunglasses on...i only wash the dash with a damp cloth...i don't use armor all or any shining products on anything due to added glare and slipperiness they cause

One last thing for all that have rear head rests. Remove them and improve your rearview mirror visibility. How often do you have passengers in the rear and then how often do they or even you actually adjust them properly when you get seated.
Aside for the improved safety of removing them your interior will have a cleaning more spacious look. Be bold be different pop them suckers of and store for the next owner. LOL

only did this in when we had full child car seats which interfered with the head rests...the rear head rests in this car are also how the rear seat covers are connected up top so i will keep them in place...have had more of an issue with rear view visibility due to the road salt covering the rear window (other than the wiper view) than the rear head rests being in the way...hoping for a mild weekend to wash it

Your Mazda from the outside is clean looking but so cookie cutter white. There is nothing that makes it stand out from other SUV? What are you plans if any.

maybe some stickers for added horsepower lol...i like a clean oem look from the outside...def don't want a "look at me car"...splash guards, hood struts and the lower bumper cover grills are the only things i have/will do for now unless i see something for the exterior that would serve a non-cosmetic purpose for me that i would want...but haven't seen anything else yet

I would think about covering your shark fin with semi flat black so the illusion from the side will look as if we're not there.

nah...serves no purpose other than cosmetics
.......

Interesting. I would like to see it installed in the car. The link didn't work for me. That is one of the biggest improvements over the CX-5 our Telluride has - the seats. They have a power extension on the front of the drivers seat that makes long drives so comfortable. Mazda should do that on the CX-5.

see photo below...neither the web link or the share link worked for some reason...i pasted the brand name and the product title so it can be searched on amazon...i agree about the seats...telluride > cx-5...i never found the cx-5 seats terrible but this is an improvement for them...i would hope they made them a little longer in the 26...
