I have bought Toyota's for over 25 years. I looked at a 2019 CX 5 and love it. My question is are Mazdas as reliable as Toyota's? I keep my vehicles for 15 plus years. How do they stack up against Toyota's? I never have any issues with my Toyota's. Thank you for your reply.

Can you give me your experiences as a Toyota owner comparing owning a Mazda? Thank you.

Thank you. I just need more details if you are open to giving me comparisons say between a Rav 4 and the Mazda CX 5. I appreciate it.

I have a 2016 CX-5 with 70,000 miles. It's been trouble free. I have several friends with Rav 4's which are also reliable. A close friend is a Toyota fan,my personal thought is, both manufacturers make great cars. I find Toyotas to be pretty bland, whereas Maxdas are more fun to drive. I don't think you'll go wrong with either brand, it depends on what you want from a car. This is just opinion, not empirical data.

Thank you for your input. I just don't want to make the wrong decision and live to regret it. I agree Toyota's are bland. But excellent in reliability. Thank you again, I appreciate your input!

Consumer Reports gives it it's top predicted reliability score, higher than Subaru, Honda etc.

Everyone wants a reliable car,, but you have to do some of your own homework, research, and legwork. And then after all that you can still get a lemon as I have on occasion. I still rely on Consumer Reports for general recommendations, but keep in mind that their most recent reviews can't predict the specific future reliability of a particular model. That said, personally, I would stick with purchasing a proven Asian manufacturer if you plan on keeping it for 10 years (tops!) or lease an American car if it covers all your repairs.

I just looked up the 2019 Consumer Reports and you are correct. That makes me feel much better. I keep flipping back and forth between the Rav 4 and the CX 5 GT. One question though, who is the acceleration to get onto the highways in your opinion? Thank you.
