Check engine light comes on occasionally and reads code p0303 misfire in cylinder 3. But if I clear the code it doesn’t come back for a few weeks.
My FIL is a mechanic and he also had no idea what was going on at the time. We checked the other things that could’ve been causing it, all these tests, but all was good. I ended up buying another coil (so 2 at that time) myself and it took 2-3 different times of swapping coils around and the problem resolved and has been perfectly fine ever since. I guess you may want to check the fit of all the coils and plugs you bought, but the initial plugging of my new coils didnt solve it until i just kept swapping because I was looking for new error codes. My FIL was like idk wtf that was but whatever, its been golden ever since. Sorry I dont have a good answer but if an actual mechanic doesn’t know whats going on idk what to tell the people in here that get upset with DIYers.

I just saw this ridicules response from you? You do realize that AutoZone not only carries and sells top branded and long well known auto parts but many OEM authorized replacement parts for various platforms as well.

Lets chalk this response up to uniformed ,not any supported information(empirical) and likely IMHO a DIY that bought a part that failed due to the wrong diagnosis or poor service replacement procedures (not following the correct procedure outlined by the OE in a factory service manual).
As far as quality goes without saying that thousands or more 10s of thousands of aftermarket parts meet and exceed the OEM specification for quality and material on composition. I should also include the FACT that almost ALL major auto manufactures use aftermarket manufactures for many part that are used on their vehicles and are simply re number to have OE part numbers. One of the most common is just about every spark plugs and many brake components, batteries, etc.,. All one has to do is a little effort and research on any given part to see who actually manufactured the specific part from an auto manufacture.
