can someone confirm if Mazda CX-5 standard versions can be upgraded with original navigation system ?

 

since money was invented, anything can be done

 

Hi yes ! I checked with the dealer and they said they don’t install probably want to sell their high end model .Would you know all what I need to buy to upgrade the radio on standard version with the original touchscreen

 

What year CX-5 are we talking about? What trim level?

I would say you will have a hard time accomplishing what you want without a lot of expense and effort. Much easier to buy the car with the infotainment you want from the factory. My '21 has the top end system and I would not buy a CX-5 without that system.

 

Pricey, I thought Mazda did away with the touch screen in 2021? Is it back in the newest models?

 

It is not. He asked about adding navigation on a non nav car. None of the screens on the current cars are touchscreen as you said.

 

If you're asking if you can upgrade a non-nav CX-5 with an SD card for maps, they are widely available on eBay for 1/10 the dealer cost.

If your CX-5 does not have a display, it will be way too expensive to retrofit a display screen in, the dash assemblies are different.

 

Muhammad. I have the 2019 base, non-turbo with 65000 km and no issues whatsoever. I also have no navi, but I found that if I charge my IPhone from the center console charging port, I get Apple CarPlay and navi. I can also add Waze, and other apps I have on my phone, such as audiobooks. Now, I just plug the phone anytime I go to new places or drive long distance. Hope this helps! -JD
