Default Loss of power during hard downshift

Hi all,

I Have a 2015 cx-5 98k miles auto transmission. When there is a hard downshift (i.e. while going up a hill), there is an immediate loss of power. Sort of like the transmission completely slips. The engine runs fine but the car has no drive. When this happens, the check engine light, tire pressure light, and tractional control light all start blinking. If I shut off the car and restart, the car will move again (if I don't do a hard downshift) and only the check engine light remains on.

I had an auto parts store run the diagnostic codes on the car and the only code that came back was P0303 (cylinder misfire). This doesn't make any sense to me how a misfire can cause a total loss of drive. The engine also seems to run well - no jittering or any sign of misfire during idle.

Anyone ever experienced this before? Thanks all

The single DTC is not really enough to go on what the problem may be? I would have someone go back and connect to the OBDII diagnostic connector again and look at the monitors.

Thanks for the response. This code is from an OBD Device. I went to the local auto parts store and they let me use their loaner. They plugged it into the little white plug under the steering wheel and this is the code it displayed on the device.

I understand I said go look at the emission monitors. Not the general "check for engine code" area of the scanner you used.
