I've had the same issue. The first time was about a year and a half ago, and it was terrifying driving in a snowstorm in the mountains with a rapidly shrinking field of vision in spite of having the defroster on full blast at 80 degrees. I thought I just needed new wiper blades, so I dropped $80 on Bosch and figured the problem was fixed. Last night I had a similar experience driving home in a heavy snowstorm, and I just thought it was time to replace my wipers again, so I bought another new set this morning before heading up to the mountains. The SAME THING happened on my way home today, with the brand new wipers! They keep the glass clear initially, but now I'm convinced a combination of the crappy center vent design and the fact that the wiper blades rest on an area that is not heated and allows them to accumulate ice is rendering them worthless when needed most. I'm so frustrated by this obvious design and safety flaw, because otherwise I really love the vehicle and it has performed admirably driving in bad weather.

Before running the wipers, precipitation mostly stopped so this is just from the defroster.

After running the wipers. Oof.

Running HVAC on recirc will cause fogging.
