Default Light upgrade for 2021 trunk lid?

I noticed last night that the included incandescent bulb back there doesn't put out much light. Can anyone recommend a good LED that'll light up the cargo area a bit better at night? (I'm a little disappointed that they went with the lamp there rather than on the side of the cargo area like in the 2014. Actually, having them in both places would have been a good idea!)

It may help you to know that the LED in the Signature is just as bad.

I did upgrade the 2014 we had with a festoon panel, something like this, but I cannot swear to the size of the festoon (e.g. 31 mm, 42 mm etc) You would have to measure that.

Somewhere I saw someone stick a small closet light or something on the rear located much like the 2014.

I should check the manual to see what the bulbs are. Something like those might help! If I did the front and rear map lights and that one in the trunk door it would probably be plenty bright. Hopefully not *too* bright lol

Yep, just get the LED equivalent for the bayonet bulb. It works much better.

Their documentation for the bulbs sure isn't very useful. It doesn't seem to show the regular numbers I was thinking they were like 168 or 194s in there. Sounds like 3175 is the size I need though.

I'm reading horror stories on some of the Amazon reviews about all the LED bulbs. A lot of people say they arrived DOA, but I'm guessing a lot of them don't realize you need to have the polarity right for them to come on. Also seeing reports that some of them don't fully shut off when switches are off. I noticed a similar to that when I tried some LEDs in my ceiling fan lights. When the lights were turned off and the fan was in one position I'd get a faint glow from the bulbs but that's another story.
