Just got our CX-5, have few questions
Hi everyone, we just got our CX5 Turbo in Soul Red Crystal, and we have few questions, and hoping that they are not stupid questions..
Navigation: I saw some links discussed in earlier threads that we can buy the SD card online, but I am having trouble finding one for 2023, is it same as 2022 model? Does it come with a license from Mazda or is it just maps in the card, if so can the maps be downloaded/bought digitally to save costs of SD card?
Android Auto: A little surprised that Mazda was thoughtful enough to include wireless charging, but requires Android Auto to be wired. While it's definitely more reliable than wireless android, since there is already a wireless charging pad, I wanted to know if anyone tried 3rd party wireless android auto adapters, if so which ones is recommended?
Interior accessories: We are looking for better floor mats (for winter) and cargo liner, as well as cargo cover and maybe the shelf that was included with few other CX5s we saw, but not the one we bought. Haven't had much luck with Amazon, is there a Mazda original accessory seller or maybe a dealer that offers them at discount prices?
Paint protection: We live in Suffolk county, if anyone is in the area and familiar with paint shops offering paint protection/coating or other services at reasonable prices please let us know. I don't want this beautiful color to lose it's luster. It just looks amazing right now.
TPMS: I can't seem to find where to access the TPM to read the psi. I checked information screen and it doesn't show that.
Dashcams: Any recommendation for Dashcam, and any wiring suggestions? I am thinking of getting a dashcam as soon as possible, and use the 12V charging port until I learn more about fuses or hard wiring options, for now I rather not touch anything sensitive at least for first 3 months until we make sure everything is good with the CX5.
Any other suggestions?

You can buy the card from this link, way cheaper than your local dealer. Insert the card and the car should recognise it and within few driven miles it should lock to your car & VIN number, meaning from that point on the SD card becomes non-transferable, it gets locked to your car. Then you go on your pc and download the Mazda tool box application, create an account and check for the latest nav update. If you do not have an SD card reader, buy a cheap one from Walmart and use it to upload the latest update.
For floor mats try Maxpider brand. I've got the ones with the Mazda logo on them but even without the logo, Maxpider seems to me a good brand.
WeatherTech is the answer to floor mates and cargo mats. They also linked to the MATS web site.
They also do the vent shields that are 'in channel' not the double stick tape versions.
Also: e-bay has thousands of listings for do-dads, wiz-bangs, and other junk for CX-5s.
My 2¢

They have held up very well in our nasty winter weather.

I also bought a Husky cargo mat. You should also get a rear bumper protector; it keeps the top of the rear bumper area under the lift gate from getting scratched.

The thing with the TPMS really irks me. The sensors are capable of sending pressure and temperature readings to the system, but the coders didn't put in a way to display that information. Not even in the mobile app.
I have one of these and it's the best mod I've done to this car: AmazonSmile: Orange Electronic TPMS Mazda 2017,2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 CX-5; 2014,2015,2018,2019, 2020 CX-9 Tire Pressure by Location Display : Automotive
For dashcams, I like Thinkware. My wife and I both have the F70 but any of their models should serve you well.

The struts for the hood are a near must. Not hard to install and you'll love them.

Not to start a debate but not all hood struts are of quality design and manufacturing. If you are going to get one that is not only made in house but also has tone of the best customer service departs and you talk to a real person at the company I highly recommend REDLINE HOOD STRUT KITS.
My recommendation is based on installing dozens of other brands and having them fail on both my and customer vehicles in less then 12 months. REDLINE warranty is one of the best in the business and they will work with you to resolve any installation issue as well you will be satisfied should a warranty issue come up because of any problem with the struts.
Redline Tuning is the leader in Hood QuickLIFT Systems (gas springs, struts, dampers, lifters) for all vehicles that have an OEM prop rod.

I have the Oedro liners in my '21 (same you would use for a '23) and love them. They have awesome coverage. I would highly recommend PPF for the front of your CX-5 (bumper, hood, front quarter panels, mirrors) and the top of the rear bumper. Another cool gadget (if you don't use the wireless charging) is the phone holder which clips to the middle HVAC vents on the dash. You can get it on Amazon. Interior LED lighting is also easy and fun to do. I also had the front door windows tinted to match the rear windows. Enjoy your new ride.
