Question Issue with CX-5 Windshield Defroster

Odd question. So it's starting get chilly here in SLC and for some reason when I turn to heat and attempt to turn the **** to windshield only, it stops at windshield/feet. I try to continue to turn it but it just stays on windshield/feet. What possibly could be causing this other than a defective unit of some kind?

Any help or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Dodgy dial. Go see your local dealership.

Yup- bad control module. Mine had the same problem and the dealer had to order the part from Japan- took about 3 weeks. I had 'em fix it (under warranty) when the car went in for its 30 day service.

Well good to know I'm not crazy. It's weird though because sometimes it functions properly after the car has been running for some time. Could it have anything to do with the temperature of the car?

Absolutely, it's binding when cold. Cold temps = tighter tolerances on moving parts. Particularly true on plastic/nylon.

Question

Taking it to the dealer on Saturday, we'll see what they say. Also have to see about getting my jack replaced. Used it once and it locked on me. Anybody else had this happen? Does Mazda replace them?
