Default Intermittent wipers

We are wondering how everyone else gets on with the automatic wipers on their late model CX 5 . We wish we had the older system of a simple time interval on the intermittent, rather than the present sensitivity setting. We seem to have to fiddle with this new system a lot more now?

I have a 2024 … my automagic wiper setting seems to work fine, no issues.

I have a 2020 and they work fine, though there are less adjustable in the "auto" mode as the sensor takes over.

On my 2021, I can easily choose between having the automatic or intermittent mode in the settings menu. In the winter months, i choose the intermittent setting because it's too easy to forget to leave the wipers in AUTO mode when turning off the car if the rain has stopped while I was driving. My concern is that the wipers will start next time I start the car and that the blades might be frozen to the windscreen and cause the wiper linkage to break.

I hear you, and it will happen unless you remember to keep your wipers off in freezing temps.
I normally start leaving them in the "off" position this time of year for me, had frost and ice twice this week in the morning even though it got to near 70 degrees in the afternoon.
The issue is every year I get older the less I remember to do

Yes, that seems to be our problem. No matter how we adjust the sensitivity, the wipers seem to come on more or less than they should !

I went into our settings and all I could see was to switch the auto wipers on or off. If you switch it off, how do you enable the intermittent feature?

I'm pretty sure intermittent is enabled when you turn off the auto wipers in the settings.

The automatic or intermittend mode can be chosen in the car settings. The first switch position of the windscreen wiper lever is the automatic or the intermittent position. Choose the interval timing by rotating the ring when in intermittent mode.
The second position is the continuous low speed and the third is the high wiper speed .

Ours just says 'enable' or 'disable' . It does not say anywhere that if the auto wiper function is disabled, the rotating 'sensitivity' control now becomes a 'timing' control. I will check this the next time though! Thanks .
