Indecisive and need a push thinking about getting a cx-5
Hey all! I never thought buying a car would be such a trigger for anxiety attacks. This process has been draining and now with the covid 19 it’s making it an even trickier process. I’m torn between Nissan Rouge and CX-5. I was settled on a Rouge and have since fallen in love with the 2017 CX-5. Any pros/cons or advice from people that have them would be so much help. I lost my dad in February and this process is even harder not having him in my ear for guidance and reassurance. So I really am grateful for any opinions and help.
Take extensive test drives in both cars and see which one you like better. I would even suggest driving each car both in daylight and at night to see how well you can see the gauges, controls, rear view camera, etc. This is especially important if you plan to keep the car for a long time.

I am happy with our CX-5. The only con is that I do not find the driver's seat comfortable. It's like you are sitting on it instead in it.
So as a forum member already suggested, I would take very extensive test drives of both cars and see which one feels more comfortable for you, from both a seat and ride perspective.

This is a BIG one. When we (my wife and I) were making a final comparison between the MX-5 and the Subaru Forester, driving that CVT in the Forester was the deciding factor. That "lurch y" start-up is something I could never get used to. I'm from NYC and could only imagine trying to parallel park one of those vehicles in a tight space. Not! Not being able to "creep" forward or back from a full stop just by feathering the brake pedal (at idle) is important to me.

My wife's BFF who has the bread to buy whatever she want's bought a new Nissan Murano to replace her old Nissan Murano (which she loved), drove it three months, hated it, sold it and bought an older one in excellent condition that she found on line. Point being, we have a 2014 CX-5 Touring that we love. When I read in here about all of the wazz-min-azz technology problems people are having with the newer models I can relate. Call me old school but too much technology in a car, (quote from "Road House") "is like an elevator in an out-house. It don't belong." This threads back to European mentality in cars. Theirs don't even have cup-holders. They are drivers. My heart is with them especially every time I see some idiot going down the road here in the USA texting on their cell phone.
