Just trying to help other people because this has been very inconvenient for us.

Since I last posted, the car was still shaking after the left rear was replaced. The car was brought back to the dealership again.

I included a firm letter to the service dept that I will begin the process of lemon law litigation if the issue is not resolved this 3rd time. I got a call two days later that there was a mazda engineer on site investigating the issue, and it was mentioned to me that the process of strapping the cars down during shipment from Japan caused flat spots on the tires and they will be replacing all 4 tires with new ones.

Since they don't have any tires in stock, we are just waiting for the tires to be shipped to this dealership then I have to bring the car in for what hopefully is the last time.

If it is still shaking after this final attempt Mazda is keeping this car.

^ Again excellent report, thank you.

Now we see why others have not experienced this. Probably most cars were not strapped down so tightly, therefore no severe/permanent flat-spotting of tires.

wow after reading this i thought i would post.
i have a M3i grand touring bought 4/2012.
experienced vibration - took to dealer - rotated and balanced - no change
took back again - took 4 tires and rims off a new identical model and put them on my car - no change still vibration all speeds, but can replicate it every time.
called mazda and filed complaint, they had a master tech meet at my dealership and they performed brake force balance?? why? its not the tires.
tech says in writing that the vibration is normal due to sport suspension - your kidding me right.
called mazda again and this time they had me go to a different dealership with another regional tech specialist. they had the car for 1 hour and said there is nothing they can do its due to the skyactive transmission or drive train. their final response was it is a normal characteristic for that vehicle.
called attorney for advise and they said to use lemon law, there is a manufacture defect.
called mazda and told them they have 7 days to rectify this matter.
mazda says nothing they can do.
filing lemon law papers today.

Interesting first post.

It's "road force" balance. Consider having a good custom wheel/tire shop do the check on their Hunter road force machine for a better second opinion. But if the vibration is related to road surfaces and firm suspension, then no action required. If Mazda says they have nothing to do, then they are confident in their stance for good reason and have already predicted the outcome.

This sounds simple.
go back to the dealer
With the service person, Test Drive a new similar vehicle to make sure it does not shake,
Have the dealer swap tire sets from test car to your car, then test your car with new wheel set

Maybe they could take some off of a demo or loaner vehicle, but not likely.

It will be easy enough to just test drive with the customer same vehicle to show it's normal (as the tech already said, so he knows it can be proven).

Sounds like a non-issue, Mazda is confidendent nothing will happen.

Shaking because of a sport suspension is completely ridiculous. My S2000 is the epitome of a sport suspension and it's smooth on the highway. If Mazda tries to play this card it would be asinine.

Anyway, after all 4 tires were replaced with brand spanking new tires the car still shakes between 60 - 70 MPH. Lemon law litigation is now underway.

Your situation isn't the same as his (which you clearly explained above). Yes, my Lexus IS350 on F-sport springs and 19" T1R tires has no vibration. But it's not smooth as glass on rough pavement.

btw - So the shaking is still there with brand new tires. So what did the dealer say? They confirmed still shaking?

His post is some random one-time post.

Wow, certainly Marked has a clear audit trail of Mazda's poor handling of situation by both dealer and corporate.
