Question Highest milage 2016 CX5?

Hello all,

Just registered on these forums. I am a new 2016 Mazda owner, Grand Touring. It's a very nice SUV. Came from many Honda's and GM cars. Never had the opportunity to own a Mazda. May I ask, what is the highest milage some of you with the 2016 CX-5 currently have on your cars? I am wondering how this car will hold up in the long run, because I plan on keeping it for many years. Obviously maintenance is a top priority for me.

Thanks

48,000 miles, I'm sure there are people with many more. Just tires, air filters and oil changes so far.

BTW, why are you only concerned with 2016 MY CX-5s? All gen 1 cars are pretty much the same animal. If your concern is long-term reliability, you should be looking at 2013-2016.5 models and maybe placing less emphasis on the 2013 only because it used only the 2.0 ltr.

Default Also interested in mileage & general reliability

Glad someone asked this! New CX5 owner (2016 touring 13k mi). I've been wondering how they hold up. Good point about including the entire generation. Just wondering what most people's experiences have been with reliability, things to avoid, things to keep a close eye on, etc. Thanks!

Matt,

I have a 15 Mazda 3 with 70,000 with the 2.5 engine in the CX-5. I have had a few problems with the brakes. I think the mechanic installed bad pads and had to get pads done a second and third time and new rotors which I think I would have not needed otherwise. Beyond that, no problems.

For the heck of it, I went into Cars.com (I should be working today but I get distracted easily). I searched for CX-5s nationwide and sorted by the highest mileage. The top 3 all had 150,000 miles or so and had the carfax reports. each one appeared to have only the basic maintenance and looked like they would be good for another 100,000 or so. They were also all one owner cars which tells me they were worth keeping.

I would expect the maintenance on a Mazda to be slightly more than a Honda or Toyota but not enough to worry about. Keep up with the basic stuff and you will be ok for 200,000 or more miles.

I have a 2016 with 90k miles. I drive 1200 miles per week for my businesses. CX-5 is the best vehicle I ever owned. Well engineered and a pleasure to drive. I have only changed the oil and filters and tires. Everything else is all original. Have 50% left on the brakes. Very cheap to own.

Same mileage on my 2013 CRV had already replaced brakes/rotors, trans fluid twice, various light bulbs and 2 batteries.

My 2016 Sport has right about 60k miles on it, and it's all just about been basic maintenance. The only issue I encountered was an oil leak that was fixed around 40k under warranty, but there was also a TSB for this issue as well (not sure the number at the moment). This was more of an annoyance than anything else by tying up the car for a couple days at the dealer. It was fixed, and I haven't looked back since. Other than that, it's honestly been nothing out of the ordinary for any other car. There's nothing about the CX-5 that makes me think it can't go as long as the Toyota's I've had in the past.

Thank you all for your replies. Those of you that had Mazda's before, how long do you think this transmission will last with proper maintenance?
