Default HIgh pitched whine

Thank you for adding me. I just bought my wife a new 2023 CX5 and she really likes the car. The only problem is the car has a high pitched whine that is most noticeable when you shut the car off. When switched off it continues for about 20 seconds and then the whine stops. I don't know if this is normal on the 2023's or not, she previously had a 2015 and it had no whine. Any information would be appreciated.

Thank You

Any idea where it sounds like the noise is coming from? Like a general area?

Welcome to the forum

You are totally still under warranty, that said go to the Mazda dealer have them look at it request a drive along so that you can hear and ask about the noise.
Otherwise noises even with a video are next to impossible to tell where they are coming from let alone what they are.

I get dozen in the week from customers as well forum members.

Check and see if my mother-in-law is in the back seat...
As Cali said it's under warranty, take it to the dealer.

here is a great video but you need to turn up the volume to really appreciate it.

I know this driver we talk have talked over the years. He set me up with his guy at PG gears that I later custom ordered a special gear set for my MINI. It is not as loud but defiantly get attention. The set was $4500.00 back in 2006. All told I spent about 9k on my fully one off highly modified MINI 6 speed manual that would easily support input of 600hp . My MINI was a little shy of that. But I have never divulged the actual power WHP ever

The guy must be deaf, no earplugs and/or a helmet could block that out
Impressive driver at least compared to others on the track.
Actually, there was no comparison to the others on the track.

Is this when she drives the car for an extended period of time? A noise I did notice when I go on long trips (Usually a lot of highway driving) was when the car was turned off the fan would continue to run towards the front of the car. Didn't necessarily sound like a whine but like a fan. Went off after about 30-90 seconds. I was told by Mazda it was normal.
If its more of a whine and this is every time, then I'd bring it in to make sure everything is ok.

Hmmm maybe you should see if MAZDA neglected or if your model did not come with one the hood has the mounting tabs to install a OEM hood insulator?

If you have a hood insulator you should not be able to hear the radiator fans.

Part of the creature comfort engineering in many platforms having to do with electric fans(this also includes the blower motor) is the fan blades and housing development so that they are not noisy.

You make zero sense.

Let me put it to words you can understand.

If you have a hood insulator....you should not be able to hear the radiator cooling fans.
Unless you are outside the vehicle .
