So at 15 k miles I pulled all my injectors set them off to have them rebuilt and balanced flowed. They were so unbalanced between them I bought 6 new injectors and had 4 matched flowed . 2 were not able to match them to the set. This is normal yet most would never know this about factory injectors. Now think of not doing a regular cleaning service how badly they become. Lower MPG if even slight and a decrease often not felt in the power.

Default Fuel Additives

Callisto,
Can you please dive further into the below, I'm curious!
Nothing cleans the back of intake valves, piston crown or combustion chambers better then a good 10 minute spray of water at about 2500 rpm.

Techron for sure. Have used Techron in all my cars for many years. Has been recommended by Experts and others as well.

. This allows the engine at some predetermined service to allow the engine at operating temperature to pull on the water vapor that steams as it reaches the end off or beginning of the intake port on the head. The steam acts as a cleaning agent that breaks up carbon deposits.
This concept is not new and has been around since the 1940s .It was even used on a few productions vehicles later discontinued because owners failed to refill the water reservoir…

There are some cautions on a Skyactiv engine that must be known and common since. And no it’s impossible to hydro- lock an engine with this system.
I am currently designing a direct port runner water/meth system for the engine support power levels, but will still use the system above for carbon management.

We had one model Holden that suffered really bad from knock and the fix was get up to opertaing temp then when holding the throttle wide open use a garden hose to drown it to the verge of cutting out for about 10 minutes. Worked a treat but not something I'd do on a modern car.

lol… that was a fix for the dreaded dieseling of a gas engine that had high carbon build up. But not a garden hose. I would start the engine and slowly pour water through the carburetor while manually working throttle to keep it running. The water would come out the exhaust black as it cleaned the cumbustion chambers. You could then turn the engine off and no more dieseling .

Being brutal was the preferred method with those old engines. They really responded well. Water is a well known decarboniser just look at a plug from an engine with a leaky head gasket.

Something I think would pass on doing to my 3.6ltr Holden Calais 2016 but maybe do it to my 2001 Holden Commodore 3.8 Buick engine???

I'm talking old tech around the early 80's with the dreaded VK EST engine.
