Angry Forward Smart City, Smart Brake, Forward Camera, Auto High Beam, Lane Keep...

Hello!

My 2021 CX5 Carbon Turbo developed an issue with the Front Camera Sensor System Malfunction, Smart Brake System Malfunction, Forward Smart City Brake Support Malfunction, and the Auto High Beam and my lane keep features have all quit working.

They popped on after getting in my car at the end of a very hot and sunny Florida day. It was facing west into the sun when I got in it. I've checked for codes with my scanner and nothing, changed the battery as my original was done, and even changed the brake light switch. I even polished the windshield area where the camera and laser is located and even polished the grill emblem. I went thru EVERY fuse under the hood and driver side A pillar and have found nothing wrong. I did some research and found an old TSB 15-002/18 that describes this issue. I called my stealership and they told me it doesn't pertain to my year of vehicle, even though it's doing EXACTLY what the TSB describes.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I have not had the issue.
As your dealership informed you, that TSB doesn't apply to your vehicle, meaning forget about it you are just wasting your time.
(calling them a stealership will do you no favors)
On the other hand, very hot climates can cause the glue for the forward sensing cameras and other windshield attached items to fail.
Even if the item doesn't fully detach from the windshield, the failed glue can cause misalignment.
I would check and make sure this has not happened to your vehicle.

check out this : MC-10199641-0001.pdf

they’ve modified that old tsb. I have a 2021 cx-5 and unfortunately I’m having the same exact problem after a hot day in North Carolina.

If you read it carefully, it only applies to very specific vin numbers.
