Default First Oil Change

DIY first oil change on our CX-5 at 3,000 miles. Easy as pie. You don't have to remove the entire undercarraige cover. Just the one with two screws and snap rivet.

Oil drain plug and filter are easy to get at....need allen wrench for drain plug.

Using Mobil 1 synthetic and Mazda filter.

Happy driving!!!

I went under the car yesterday and can appreciate the fact that Mazda covered everything to cut drag. I expect the access door for the oil drain is the larger door to the rear since I removed the 2 small doors easily and saw nothing regarding oil drain or filter. I removed the 2-- 8mm screws and about 5 rivets but could only get the door to slide around in place. I was concerned about pulling on it and so buttoned it up. Any hints on how it comes off?

I suggest using the factory suggested SAE 0-20 full synthetic oil in the engine. The small engine works hard and I wouldn't stray from the factory reccomended stuff.

My question still stands---does anyone know how to access the oil drain and filter????
