Smile First Impressions

I picked up our 2014 CX-5 Touring yesterday and drove it around and to work this morning, this was the real test drive, much more than the driving I did around the dealership during the test drive. So far I love it but still scared of taking corners too fast (45 MPH). One thing I don't like is the gas pedal resistance. Wish I would turn it off! I know it is supposed to give better gas mileage but it just feels wrong. I guess I will get used to it.

The first thing I want to do (hopefully tonight) is remove those ugly plastic dealership license frames! I hope I can get some black chrome with smokey shield to complement the jet black color.

The next thing, hopefully soon is tint the driver and passenger windows - I feel so exposed!

Happy so far

Resistance in the gas pedal? Is that one of the changes they made in 2014? Don't have it in my '13.

That may be the case. This is what the Smart Start Guide says about it:
"The accelerator pedal is equipped with a kick down switch to give the driver more control and to improve fuel economy. When you depress the accelerator 95% of the way, you will feel an increase in resistance..."

That's been discussed on "the other" forum. My guess is the switch they're referring to was there in '13 too, they just decided to hype it in '14. I can't imagine this year's automatic being any more sensitive to kick-down request than my '13 tranny.
