Default Emergency stop by passenger

Hi
When we bought our CX-5 in 2016 the sales person mentioned in the event that something happens to the driver whilst driving there was something a passenger could use to stop the car.
I thought it was the electric brake but my wife disagrees. I've reread the manual an can't find any information.

I'm hoping someone on here can help.
Thanks in advance
cheers
Dax

Handbrake application? With the electronic park brake, if you try to apply it when driving over 20km/hr it will pulse the rear brakes and slow you down without locking up the rear wheels.

I believe that you have to manually hold the EPB buttoning in the up position in order for it to activate while the car is in motion.
