Default E parking brakes light on

Morning from sunny California.
Just bought a 2017 CX5 and whenever turning on the Eparking brakes on ...I cant turn it off ;(((
I ve read other post on this forum but my problem is different.
My Ebrakes isnt physically on only the light on the dashboard is on .If I disconnect the battery the light goes off...
After clearing the light on the dashboard if I dont touch the e parking brakes everything is fine ..
Weird ...
anyone else has that problem?
Thank you

Phil

Possible problems, low brake fluid, not likely.
Could be sensor issue though there have been know issues with the rear calipers causing this, the fix is to replace them.
I'd take it to a Mazda dealer or your preferred tech to be certain.
No point in spending money on anything until you know the actual cause.

You may want to try to place your MAZDA in brake service mode . This mat re-set and adjust the proper spacing on the brake. It is easy and will not cause any problem as well may cure your problem. If you dont know how to do the service procedure look up

How to Set the Emergency Brakes to Service Mode

If this does not work, then you need to have a certified automotive technician ONLY run a brake system check physically and using a Professional level Diagnostic scanner to find the problem. I highly recommend not to use any service that does not have a certified factory or independent certified automotive technician (ASE) do this service diagnostics on your Mazda.

I used to do the same, but the electronics have gone beyond my normal bench equipment.
Apparently low brake fluid/ can set-off the sensor(s) bad caliper/sensor and a low/bad battery can do the same.
in modern cars a low or bad battery can screw up an assortment of electronics/sensors. I can attest to that in the CX-5 as my OEM battery didn't last a full year.
Having been a computer service tech and geek sine the TI-99/4a days I know better than to mess with my vehicle programming/remapping
The service mode reset Cali suggested just might work and is fairly easy to do.
Good luck.
