Default DPF regen

Hi I have a 2015 cx5 with 120K on the clock. A DPF failed and Soot and ash fault has appeared. I've injected some chemical foam into the high pressure side and ran the car for 20 minutes or so to try to get it to regen, I've even tried to press the TCS button on start up to do the same and it hasn't worked. Has anyone out there know how to initiate a regen? and if it does work does the fault automatically go away or do I have to reset it and how?

Find a workshop to scan for codes, and most likely a Forced Regen.

Most good scan tools can do a regen but the cause may not be fixed that way. You may have to find a company that untrasonically cleans the DPF.

Thanks for the reply. I took it to a Mazda dealer and all they did was list a load of stuff that they wanted to repair including brake disc wear and suspension faults. They also diagnosed it with exhaust pressure sensor 2 failure and DPF filter has soot and ash build up. I've changed the sensor. which is the one witch monitors the pressure across the DPF. Lots of fault lights cleared but not the DPF fault. They want another £144 to check the codes. It was just a scam to get work for them.

The soot can be burnt off with the regen but the ash won't. It's the ash that's very difficult to remove. Reading codes is the easy part correctly interpreting them and diagnosing is another. Unfortunatly there are many out there that just play parts darts with a code.

Thanks for the reply. How does it monitor for ash? or does it just monitor the pressure difference?

They only monitor the pressure difference. Professional cleaners use ultrasonic bath's to clean them but even that's not always 100%.
