Door Trim
We have had our 2024 CX5 for about a year, Getting into the car today, I noticed that I must have brushed against the door pillar a bit more than usual, as the thicker, inner door seal had come adrift from the body for about two feet. We were able to push it back in OK, but noticed that it did not appear to have any glue residue on it. Any one know if this is just a push fit , or should we get them to take a look at it on our next service and maybe glue it back in?
You're under warranty (assuming the miles are still within them), so they will fix it for free. You could always get some glue/adhesive and do it yourself, but personally I take advantage of the warranties as much as possible.
If the seal I think you are talking about….it is not a warranty item and it does not have adhesive. Your discription is not uncommon with people primarily how there seat is adjusted. Taller people often will wear or damage that door seal when getting into the seat.
A picture would be better to confirm we are all talking about the correct seal.
I would take a picture for you but at 10 pm and it’s fricken to cold in the garage

Definitely. I think I may have misunderstood for something else. Pictures make things a lot easier lol.
It's a bit late here too, I can take a picture tomorrow. It is the thicker of the two seals that encircle the door opening on the body, it has a corrugated paten on it while the smaller seal that sits right next to it is smooth.
Yes that's the one, the thicker one with the lines on it. I am kind of big and I was wearing my big new parka. We thought it my not have been not glued in place . Thanks a lot !
Wow that's good to know. Thanks for getting back to all of us on this thread!
