Dead Battery?
I have a 2024 Mazda CX-5. I went to the car and opened the hatch which opened normally and put some stuff in back and opened passenger door and put something on the seat. When I just went to start it I heard something sort of click but it didn't turn over. Tried a couple more times. Then I saw on the dash the red battery icon so I assumed the battery was dead? But then all these dash lights kept coming on saying things didn't work (brakes, sensor etc). And then when I pressed the brake it didn't press. And even when leaving the car all these dash lights stay on. The app has a message saying "Critical Vehicle Malfunction Alert". And says "Low brake fluid detected. If the Brake System Warning Light was only temporarily turned on, it was due to a sudden ripple of the brake fluid and was not a malfunction"....
I called the dealer and they seemed to think it is a dead battery. I haven't used the car since yesterday. I don't remember leaving a door open or anything like that. Another thing I noticed is that I didn't get a notification that my door was unlocked. Where I live we always leave the doors unlocked (rural). I always get the notification on my phone that the door is unlocked. The last one I have in the list is from Sunday, there isn't one for Monday. I do however have a LONG list of Safety and Security notifications from this afternoon.
Mazda Roadside Assistance is coming out. But just curious if this is something odd or normal or what? Thank you in advance.
Edit: I just read thru some other posts and read something about leaving the car in auxiliary mode. I remember yesterday I took a phone call in the car and sat in the driveway for maybe 15 minutes to finish my call. I'm thinking maybe that's what happened? I kept the car on so the A/C would stay on. But why wouldn't the car tell me in a notification?

My wife called me a few weeks ago stating same thing !
I went to location and checked battery voltage with meter !
Showed 12.2 volte .
she thinks she left the power accessory button on while sitting in car with her friend chatting and exiting vehicle before pressing power off ignition button !
put a battery booster and started it up !
drove it around for twenty minutes and rechecked voltage all good .
that was the issue
