I wonder if anyone else has had this problem?
Returning to car after run with dog, entered car but instead of
dashboard lighting up on entering car, just saw "Steering Locked".
Eventually after pressing START button a few times, dashboard lit up.

 

There are several possibilities.
Wheels turned when you shut the vehicle off can cause this (not likely)
Low battery can also cause issues (OEM battery rarely last over two years).
Bad sensors and start button.
I would try an FOB battery replacement they only last about two years tops.
