Hi I'm looking into buying a CX5 soon and I test drove a 2017 sport and it had a touchscreen. I thought they didn't have touch screen until the 2024 models? Can someone confirm that 2017-present have touch screen function? Thanks!

 

2022 doesn't have a touch screen, thank God. The command control, voice, and always clean clear screen is one of the CX-5's best standout features.

 

Agreed. The 2017-2020 models had so many issues with the touch screens ghost touching by themselves. The 2021-2023 models only utilized the rotary **** and it's so much better. I hate that Mazda not only brought back the touch screen, but also stop/start to the 2024 models .

 

That's great info and what I needed! Is the rotary annoying? It seems like it would be less functional than a touch screen?

 

It's very smooth and extremely easy to learn and use. I love that I can control the UI and screen without looking too. It's ultimately less distracting.

 

My 2017 has both the touch screen and rotary ****. I've had no problem with either, I use both and find both useful. Love the radio ***** and setting controls right at my resting right hand on the center console.

I never find a need to use my touch screen.
