cx5 vs cx50
Just finished driving a cx50 for 6 weeks while my cx5 getting a new transmission. My thoughts are the 5 is easier to get in and out. The position of everything is nicer in the 5. Driving is more refined, comfortable. Biggest problem for me the 50 had me hitting my head on the way in. I am not that tall 5 11, but even if I ducked it was a struggle to get into the seat. The 50 drove OK I did notice the shifting more. The 50 had more spacious feeling to it. the trunk has way more room. Some of the things I missed in the 50 because it wasn't a signature as my 5 is. The 5 seems to be better calibrated and just works smoother. The transmission developed a whine when raved. Transmission replaced on warranty 27000 miles.
Not getting what your race has to do with buying American made cars. I am American and would not buy a CX-50 when I have the choice of a Japanese made CX-5 (plus I like the looks of the CX-5 better). I happen to have a US built '20 Nissan Frontier and '06 BMW M Roadster and they are pretty well made vehicles. I will say in general, if I have a choice, I will take the car built in its origin country. I had a 2002 Porsche Boxster and they were built in both Stuttgart and Finland (by Valmet). Mine happened to be a Finnish built car.

lolLooking at the profile and what this member has done from their first day as a member tells a story.

If one were to take the time, they would find that most vehicles manufactured in the world that the parts are made to assemble them everywhere.
Reminds me of the packages of items made in CHINA but for some reason many have a USA Flag Sticker on the box (POP+ point of purchase) distracting from it orgin !!
US companies can put the US flag on anything like you say.
They do so only for the purpose to try and fool the consumer into buying a "US" product and it is perfectly legal for them to do so.
But they can't put "Made in American" on it unless has 55% American content.
Whoopie 55%...
