cx-5 door speakers
both my door speakers in my cx-5 are shagged. I've found out this is a common problem with the bose speakers in the doors. Because I have the bose system, I am told the door speakers are 2 ohms when the dash and rear speakers are 4 ohms.
I've found this set of 2 ohms speakers to replace them but they also come with a tweeter! I was wondering, does anyone know if this is still possible to use these speakers with the bose system in a 2013 cx-5? If this works, obviously you'd gain an extra 2 tweeters in the front but that could some extra high end.
Anyone clued up on this stuff??
Here's a link to the speakers on amazon

First it is not a common problem with Bose speakers as you posted. Not sure what your source is but it’s not accurate?
The speakers you are looking at would be correct ohm but they don’t give all the specifications which would indicated completely safe for your factory BOSE system. But if the play on advertising wording states 100w max then the nominal watts should be within BOSE amplifier specifications. You can ask the seller what the power rating is .
Not sure I have read any Factory BOSE system that used other then 2ohm speakers. That’s what they are known for their speakers and that’s how the amps are rated as well? 4 ohm would over drive a 2 ohm amplifier.

I re-read your other thread. I can tell you that if you are an Audiophile you will never be total pleased with the factory BOSE sound system.
So I recommend but those door speakers to get you by and then start saving to completely reduce your sound system.
My 2018 Mazda 3 came with the best factory sound system to date from Mazda. It lasted in my new Mazda about 11 months before I stated to make changes in the complete sound system . No more BOSE

When does a known problem become common?
I've seen lots of 2012-2018 Mazda's come thru the dealership with faulty/failing Bose speakers. Most common problem is the steel frame rusts, the paint bubbles and then creates a terrible noise with bass. Also the glue holding the cone in place can fail too.
I've seen it mentioned many times on Facebook Mazda forums.

Maybe that depends on the country and or type of climate? And it may not be all BOSE speakers. BMW , Porsche , Mazarite , Ferrari have used BOSE for decades and can’t say as I read anywhere of such environmental caused damages as Mazda has with them ?
Ok then grime would know !

No one wants to "hear" this but...
Simple fact is your average brand road vehicle never comes with audiophile quality systems.
Installing audiophile equipment will never get you audiophile quality sound in a vehicle.
They simply cannot achieve that reality in the numerous environments they operate in.
You probably can achieve what sounds great to you but that is subjective.
It really all depends on how good your hearing is and it gets worse for everyone as we age

My system spending several thousand dollars is Stereo contest quality and can come so close to a flat pink noise response but that is in the shop or garage engine off and windows up and I am the only one in the Mazda.
Even with all my added sound reducing material the road noise can be measured in bd increasing exotically as I increase vehicle speeds which tends to reduce the frequency reproduction of HZ range and changes the quality of sound.
This not to say you cant build an expectable sound system for your personal taste . But all to often the money to invest is seldom their and the wrong starting points are done. Example the first desire to increase Bass response which translates into thump! lol
These by at least my definition are not Audiophiles. We true Audiophiles first build a sound system that will reproduce as close to the music we like to listen to and then later choose to augment with a little more frequency response below 500 or even 250 HZ. That which is called sub bass needing a standalone amplifier to power Sub woofer speaker in their well thought out sub woofer encloser. And we get on the subject of the type of enclosers .. LOL
Labstah I just had a hearing test and currently my hearing is still what they call teenage level hearing. The eyesight not so good, good thing I don't need to see the sound of music.
lol. Others throw a lot of money at it to try to make it a concert hall on wheels.
But it will never sound like a concert hall!

Also, identify to the A to B vehicle owner crowd.
The last response are not even in a small way answering the OP question.
At any rate I am dearly sorry that owner of vehicles are tone def and can't enjoy a well thought out and built Audio Car system.
Eric Burden once sat and listen to himself (his most well known song) in one of my cars (1982 Camaro) I built custom sound system for. His comment was it sounded better than himself. I took that as a compliment to how well his most famous song sounded in my Car!
Just so some understand how that came about , my brother owned one of the most well know concert promoting companies on the West Coast of the US in the late 70s through the 80s. His only competitor was Bill Gram productions.

I should also mention that I co owned an Auto Stereo Shop for a few years built dozens of custom stereo set ups and attended many stereo contests even wining or at least placing in a few .
In conclusion and not saying it was any particular member (if you are not feeling you are one then you should not be offended in any way) as it is not the first time I have read from IMO a member commenting about upgrading a stereo system on any vehicle forum and knowing little to nothing about stereo up grades and I know it will never be the last.

I have been in some really sheety concert halls that makes a MAZDA factory sound system sound ... well fantastic. ROLMAO

And some use the woofers to extend their gas mileage...
To add some more insight just for speakers, well my insight anyway (and physics) speaker longevity and sound reproduction will depend on the environment in which your vehicle lives.
This is because "climate control" in a vehicle is never steady and in fact often changes radically on a daily basis.
In the state I live in (no not my head) the temp inside my vehicle during a given year can range from 140+ to -25 and relative humidity levels from 57% to 85%.
Now add in the radical fluctuations in heat and humidity when you run AC or heat.
It's a wonder that vehicle speakers even function at all after a few years.
Those who can recall the AM radio and the old paper cone 6" x 9" single mid dash speaker in vehicles know exactly what I'm talking about.
"Lobstah I just had a hearing test and currently my hearing is still what they call teenage level hearing. The eyesight not so good, good thing I don't need to see the sound of music.
lol."
I do need glasses but it's only one eye that is off thanks to a screwdriver in my brother's hand and mining for a quartz crystal...with an M-80 and no safety glasses.
My hearing is still great but on the low end, but the highest frequencies escape me now. Ear protection wasn't heard of for rock band members back in the day...
