Default CX-5 Daylight Running lights

Newby here-hope to solve a perplexing problem. Where exactly are the daylight running lights on the 2018 CX-5? The light that comes on in the Auto light position appears to be the full LED. I asked the Service Manager if it was possible that the Daylight version had been turned off and could he turn it on. He said no, even though that action is listed as possible in the service manual. He acted like he did not want to hear me!

Mine is a USA AWD 2017. The headlights appear to be the running lights. They are not as bright as the nighttime light. I won't say dim, because they (running lights) are bright. I have found the manual includes some things that are not possible to reprogram. Certain countries have different options. I saw power folding mirrors on youtube for instance! I am not sure what difference the full LED makes to you since safety is the issue and LEDs draw little electricity. But I hope I have helped.

Thanks for the info-I have since found out that my running lights do work, although they are difficult to see in most situations.

Default 17 CX5 LED Headlights DRL

Read above posts. Have any of you noticed when the headlights are on, if you can see what looks like a light circle of dust/distortion around the inside the lens. I have searched on headlight issues and everything I see is for CX5 models that are 2016 or older and those are about flickering.

Have real concern about the LED's if they go out then cost could be $1200 per light.

The LED daytime running lights on my 2016 CX-6 GT went out right before my 3 year warranty was up. Thank God as the cost would have been $2200.00 out of pocket to replace. The first one went out and the second seemed to be flickering so they replaced both. The dealer in Phoenix did have a record of another one coming through for the same thing. I hope it does not happen again.

They will! I have a 2016 CX5 and the running lights went out on drivers side. Mazda dealer says it is a safety issue and should be replaced. Welll, it is over $1000 to replace this! This should be replaced by Mazda but they won't cover it. So I look forward to the other side going out next. I won't fix either one and this will be my LAST Mazda for sure.

On my 2014 touring the stock DRL's are the headlight high beam bulbs (no led's) operating at a reduced power level. They are halogen projector type headlights.Guess I'm lucky mine doesn't have expensive to replace led's from the factory.I think in 2016 the first led's were installed by mazda on certain models/options but not made standard yet. Sorry to hear others having an issue with these lights. It was the only fly in the ointment on an otherwise perfect car ( 2016 GT AWD) I'm just glad mine went out under warranty.

Default Reactivating daytime running lights

I have a 2017 Mazda CX-5. I did the manual process of disabling the DRLs using the (light On/Off, hazard trick). I now want them back on in Auto mode.

- I've attempted the same method to reactivate them close to 50 times with no success.
- I've pulled the DRL fuse with car on and off
- I've pulled all H/L fuses with car on and off

The headlights still work but nothing I do seems to re-engage the DRLs. As of now during the day in Auto mode the headlights are completely off while driving unless I turn them to on. Please help if there is anyway to reset them.
