I have not used them "yet" on my personal engines of any make, but we do use them occasionally in the shop because of the jobber/wholesale cost and warehouse sales Castrol has for vendors or service shops with a brick and mortar business and resale #

I just order one for my Mazda that I will try out on my upcoming next oil/filter change and will document trying it. Although looking at the specification I can't see that it is any less than a MAZDA OE filter.

The only thing I did not like is the decal is upside down and the smooth paint. I only hand tighten my oil filters and like a better griping paint finish to remove them also by hand. But both of these personal short comings are easy to cure. The internals look quality, and I weighed both MAZDA and the Castrol filter just for fun. Pictures coming soon.
The Castrol oil filter will be used on my next oil change, which will be coming up in abut 2 weeks?

The bed liner paint when fan on at about 2 feet gives a coarse finish which is perfect for making a none slip grip surface.

I used a little Xylene to remove a small portion of the printed information on the vinyl decal for entering my date and mileage when I change the oil and filter.

And yes at times I just have to much time on my hands for these rather over extreme projects.... LOL

Haven't changed my own oil for years (except for lawn mower/snowblower).
It cost me more time and money to take the oil to the recycle center than to have it changed at the dealer.

Yes but.... you will never get the attention to details by doing it yourself. And the peace of mind that it is done correctly.
I have no comment about cost of parts.... I get an ear full all the time!

Hahahaha...
Normal cost for me to buy the filter and oil is about $50 then I'd have to drive about same amount of miles as it is to my dealership to drop off the used oil for recycling.
My dealer charges me $55.94 (also included tire pressure check) while I set in the temperature-controlled waiting area drinking their Keurig coffee (multiple flavors) and eating their pastries and using their wi-fi.
They know me well and they make sure everything is as clean as it was when it came in.
I have zero complaints with them, being they are also a motorcycle dealership I've had many good years with them and they with me.

If anyone did work on my vehicles, I would have nothing to post about.
Then what fun this forum would be....
