Car Issues After Low Battery From Sitting A While
UPDATE #2:
I got a new battery, date on it is last month (3/24) and it tested 12.6v before I installed it. I did not charge it. The old battery after sitting just over a week measured 12.2V so even if the battery isn't the issue, it was time to change it.
I did a short test drive through my city onto the highway to the next exit and back home (just over 5 miles). The multiple dashboard lights are still lit, the power steering is still not as strong, the E-Brake doesn't engage, the stop button doesn't stop the engine unless I hold it in for about 5 or so seconds, then t\I have to do a similar thing to stop the accessories like the radio, the speedometer stay at zero when driving, and the front passenger blinker is out. I haven't yet tested to see if it's the bulb or...
Thank you. Yes, good point.... I wasn't planning on having codes reset with all of these issues I just listed above still present. I am trying to avoid the stealership, or at least arm myself with enough knowledge to help from getting taken in case I have to take my car in. When cars were simpler, I could either fix them myself, or I know what had to be done so I knew if I was being BS'ed or not.

The sticker on the battery is either the recycled stock date or the stocking sale sticker date of the dealer you purchased it from. It is not when the battery was manufactured so without a load test you really are only guessing it is a good battery.
All you problem if you are trying to GET SMART you may need to pay for a simple diagnostic scan and recommendation from a service shop? If you are so untrusting of dealerships service departments.
If you Mazda has any warranty the diagnostics is free. If no warranty it is really difficult to fudge a diagnostic report. That takes more skill than any average service employee or even a factory trained Auto technician to do.
So you cant work on anything with a PCM,TCM,ECU or post OBDI systems?
Why do I always read and have people in the real world tell me they can do any service on older cars ........LOL

I haven't had the problem with my CX5, but with my Grand Cherokee, when the battery had a bad cell, the dash looked like a Christmas tree and the windshield wipers turned on and couldn't be turned off. Jumping it allowed me to start it and turn off the wipers, but several of the safety systems remained disabled and there were lights still on the dash. A new battery didn't resolve that and I had to take it to the dealer to reset codes and get everything back to normal. They didn't charge me for that, but I have an unusual Jeep dealership in that they have good technicians and value customer satisfaction.

You post information is lacking anyone that knows diagnostics on a vehicle like yours to do anything except make guesses.
The rodent suggestion was a good guess but you posted information actually does not really point to that as you cause.
So maybe actually paying the hours diagnostics fee will have able to do the corrective service to remedy your problem.

well the fact that all that experience and you still used a sales date sticker on the battery as reference to the age, and simply only measured the static voltage is a real clue about a level of experience.
the point also that you call dealerships “stealerships” points that have no clue how private retail business operate. You do understand the dealerships are privately owned .

I will say though when a member like you posts really badly and I respond anyone reading it will know a better way to ask for help and not claim knowing things they don't! Slow the process helping solves problems being asked.
Maybe you learned about Battery dating and I am willing to bet you have your future batteries load tested before you install them in any vehicle you own!

I also know that you read at least one of my responses to help you resolve your problem more than once! Member tracking and counters on some forums are a great tool to see who interest in some response and subject threads is. This helps with some approved vendors that pay for site promoting of products.
Oh I forgot to mention I belong to many forums and saw that you started the same question on another forum. Typical user (abuser for free advice) of forums joins barley finishes the member information and never read the rules and guidelines just hit the accept terms for joining. Then to get the total free advice joins multiple forums and starting threads asking the same question? That one forum has lots of people just as experienced as you..... hahahaha! I did find it interesting that you took some advice from a couple members here and posted as if they were your own thoughts and ideas about what your problem with your Mazda is! Funny on that forum you use the term for a dealership other than the slang "stealership" as and I quote your words.... "Mazda professional."
