Can I use 235/35/19 on my 2015 CX-5?

I would like to ask if anyone has used 235/35/19 on a 2015 CX-5 GT. Do I need to make any modifications?

The thing is, nobody is likely to use 235/35 R19 tires on a CX-5. Why? They are way smaller in diameter than the OEM tires; if you have them mounted on your car your speedometer and odometer will indicate higher speed and more miles than actual.

Thank you @shipo. I purchased a set of used 19" Ruffino Boss rims and they came with the tires.tires have 35% thread on them, I thought I could use them while I look for a new set of tires, but was wondering if they would damage my car.

No, I doubt you'll damage your car, but your engine will be running higher RPMS at any give speed and your speedometer and odometer will be off by a pretty fair margin.

235/35/19 would be too small in diameter as shipo pointed out. I assume you could use 235/55/19 though, you could double check with a dealer.

Thank you for your input. I will contact the dealer and inquire. I have looked into new tires and I think I will go with the 235/50/19. They will work I think.

The correct size for 19" wheels is 225/55 R19; if you go with 235/50 R19 you're still going to have speedometer and odometer error in that they're read roughly 6% high (i.e. too fast/further than actual).

Retarding the wheels you bought; do they have the correct bolt spacing (5x114) and offset (45mm)? If not you may still have issues.

If you run your new tyres, your speedo will be reading 70mph when your actual speed would be 60mph. Big difference. 12.83%.

Be sure to check out 235/55/19, not 235/50/19. Also make sure that the 235/55/19 work with the OEM 19" wheels.

Ran 235/50/19 for 30k miles; even had 235/40/19 winter tires, lots of unsafe fun on those.

Those all were running on a paid off, expired warranty 17 non-turbo so I had fun with it
