I have a 2015 CX 5 with the Bose non Nav system.
Is the center dash speaker for phone only? It
appears that way to me.

No, it is not for the phone only,
Owner's manuals are readily available free online.
The best way to know your vehicle is to read the manual, preferably before operating it.

First I am afraid that no one tells me what and who to respond to on any forum so get use to it!
As for the other of your first response those that are safer on the road are those that read their owners manual and learn about their new vehcle first and then after if they don't understand or cant find their answer that is what forums are great form.. But really stating that your did not come with one is a new lame excuse. LOL
And as for the comment about family I am not one that puts occupation as self. So you are not one to comment about family?

Technically, you're right — but how many people have to tell you it's hard to hear that when it's wrapped in personal insults?

 

Do you ever post anything of substance ?? So lets talk stereo's as you seem to like this threads topic. Now what system do you have in your vehicles? Bose is easy to name because it will have the name on the door panel but how about those others. Can you tell use who design them and not just the auto manufacture? You do realize that auto manufacture do use for many models outside independent companies to design the factory sound system right?

 

I think part of the problem with the discussion is that people today no longer want sound systems to reproduce the pure sounds of music, but want the electronic modifications of the sound. I noticed that when my daughter was young and her friends would come over and change all the settings on my sound system in the family room.

 

Yes exactly!!

I would a customer come in the shop and state "I want a BAD AS* SOUND SYSTEM" !!! Then you tell the cost, all of a sudden they start down grading from their first request when they see the $$ it takes to build one. And ten when you do settle on a system and set everything for the best sound reproduction they go in and change all the setting included the gains and frequencies of cross overs on the amps or sound processor. Or they later complain that as they are driving 65-95mph on the highway the sound starts to degrade, and they can't hear all the highs or feel the bass anymore. LOL
