Body moldings / wheel arches 2021 CX5 Grand Touring
Just purchased a 2021 CX5 Grand touring, I love everything about it but I wish the body moldings / lower bumper parts and wheel arches were gloss black instead of the flat plastic black color.
does anyone know if it is possible to swap to gloss black moldings like the turbo model has on it?
picture attached to point out the areas I’m talking about incase I’m using the wrong words.
Id like to use OEM parts.

I'm not entirely sure about the wheel arch and the rear bumper, but you could pickup some gloss black rocker panels if you want. Something like this maybe? CX5 Gloss Black Body Skirt
I think the OEM panels grow on you over time and somewhat useful if you do take the thing onto a trail (ever so often). That said, I will acknowledge that it's a bit harder to "shine up" compared to the metal body panels.

They definitely do, plus they can't get as visibly worn out as painted ones unless there's heavy damage. I'll take the functionality over looks.

From what I understand, the gloss black version on the 22 and up Turbo is not painted, just shiny plastic. I was surprised to hear this, but it should make buffing it out easier than if it was painted as the color is all the way through the material. I would think the wheel arches and rockers would be a direct transfer, but as the bumpers were redesigned for '22, I doubt you could swap them out. As an alternative, you could have your current matte parts painted by a good body shop. As the black paint would only be on those parts, you wouldn't have to worry about a color match. I would use Mazda's Jet Black Mica. They could be taken off the car for painting so you wouldn't have to worry about overspray.
