Default Apple CarPlay

Hi;

You folks have been very helpful as I’ve been getting to know my new to me 2019 Sport.

I have Apple CarPlay and on it you can set it on a kind of “split screen”, where a smaller map is on the left side and on the right side the device alternates showing what’s next on my iPhone calendar and showing the name of the song that’s playing as well as the artist.

Well, I usually know what I’m doing next, so I would prefer just to see the song information. Is there a way to stop CarPlay from switching back and forth? (I tried going into the settings of my phone, unchecking “Calendar” but that doesn’t stop the alternation.

Thanks for any suggestions.

John

You should be able to click the music button near the scroll wheel, or manually scroll with the wheel and click on the audio source.

Default CapPlay (cont.)

Thanks. The switching between the calendar and the music info happens no matter what I do with the master control or audio button. It’s obviously not a big deal but it is a little irritating.

Is it switching between the two on its own randomly by itself?

Default Switching between calendar and music info

Yes. It alternates between the two every few minutes. Kind of irritating since I don’t need the information that’s on my calendar.

You might have the issue commonly known as "ghost touch". Basically the touchscreen goes bad on the 2017-2020 models and starts randomly clicking parts of the screen on its own.

Default Thanks

VERY interesting ~ maybe that’s the problem!

I don’t suppose there’s any fix to this….

The fix is to replace the touch screen lens on the display.

Part # for my local market model is K1Y3-61-1JZA. Check with your local dealership.

It sounds similar to what I deal with on Android Auto. When started, AA always splits into 3 areas, one of which is recently used destinations. I don't like that feature, and it can be swiped away, but I would prefer it not to be there at all. I don't have this option though. I suspect what you are seeing on your CP interface is a similar "feature". It could be the display too though. Needs further investigation.
