Default 8.5j Rims on CX5?

Hello all. My 2015 CX5 has 19inch wheels on it, not sure on the actual rim width but the tyres are 225/55R19. I'm looking to "downgrade" my wheel size to give me more options with all terrain tyres (BF K02's). I'm wondering if I could get away with fitting some 17x8.5 et20 wheels on with 225/65R17 tyres. On paper they will be spaced out 30mm from the OEM wheel/tyre combo. Do you think this is possible as it would just be like using 30mm spacers on OEM wheels?

Cheers

I have 25 mm spacers in front and 30 mm on the rear on my ‘21. No interference issues with factory rubber, but even tires of the “same” size can have different widths of the actual tread and thus might rub. So your idea may not be “the same” as just installing spacers.

225/65/17 is nothing special, I have it on my '19 CX-5. Not wide enough of a tire to protect the wheel from curb damage, either. I'm looking to change to 235/70/16 on a 16x7, that's about the biggest tire you can fit. Some example pics.
