Posted in the new member forum but repeating it here...

Seriously looking at the 2015 CX-5 to replace my recently departed '91 B-2600i SE-5 Cab Plus I donated to charity (bought it new many decades ago). Gotta have AWD for our long MN winters and want the keyless entry/start and backup camera/heated seats. Yes, quite a jump in technology over 24 years!

How effective are the HID headlights and is the Adaptive Front Lighting (swivel) worth it? My wife's Camry Hybrid has the halogen projectors and they seem pretty good for stock. So guess I'm looking at the Grand Touring trim.

Welcome to the forum!

I really shouldn't comment on HIDs because I only have seen them coming at me. One thing though: I have been lurking on the Lincoln LS forum and found that HIDs are exorbitantly expensive to fix. Minor damages to the front can be a total loss just because of the HIDs. Other than that they just might be the brightest idea. Pun intended.

HiD headlights are way brighter than Halogen and need to be aimed properly.
The swivel is great for cornering, but is just another gadget to fail as time goes on. I converted my lousy halogen bulbs to HiD's for a couple hundred $ and i love them.
