2024 gps
Thank you.
Google Maps/Waze/Apple Maps on your phone is free (since you already have your phone) updates constantly and is also portable. Even gives you warnings about speed traps. The best part about the Mazda SD card is it is always in the car and integrated into the cars systems. Also gives you current speed limits on the dash/HUD as you drive.

The only communication device in my vehicle is a flip phone in the glove box for calling AAA.
I keep my emergency Garmin in the back with my maps. I'm a techie but they're easier to operate than any GPS

I've never been lost in my life, including hunting/fishing hiking in only wilderness areas, good planning and probably a bit luck.
These days I pretty much don't go anywhere I haven't been or don't already know how to get anyway.
And with the 2020 mapping software in the CX-5 the only thing I might see change is the number of exit and/or their numbers.

I was on call 24/7 most of my career meaning I detest cell phones (and pagers, anyone remember those?).

This is funny reading. Yes I do remember and have used pagers. Had to carry 2 at one time. I always carry my Garmin as a back up. And I even still carry AAA MAPS. LOL
I also carry my Diagnostic scanner on long trip more then 100 miles in one direction, few small LED flashlights, naturally a tire pressure gauge, and even for desperate times a can of fix-a-flat.
I recently bought a 2024 CX5 carbon edition. I bought a navigation card from Amazon, but it would not load. I returned it. I then bought a navigation card from Ebay which several reviews said it worked on their 24 cx5. I cannot get it to load. Would love to know what I am doing wrong.
Update: I had the card inserted wrong. Navigation loaded and functional.
