Hi all,

First post as a new owner of a 2022 CX-5. The car was missing the SD card for the nav system and the dealer ordered a new one, but said they don't know how long it could take because of the chip shortage. The vehicle was a trade from another dealership and the originating dealer apparently lost the SD card (that's the speculation).

Anyway, I'd like to have the sign recognition that I understand is enabled with the SD card installed. Not sure I'll actually use the nav (use Waze normally).

The dealer has been nothing but great, and I understand the chip shortage has caused all sorts of sourcing problems. That said, is there some other place I could get the SD chip and pay for it myself? Not sure how much it is or whether it's better to just wait for the order to come in.

The one you linked should work great. There was a poster on here saying if you don't buy the one from the dealer (which is $400...) the updating software will know and deactivate the card. I have not had this issue with the one I bought last year. Updated fine.

Mine worked with HUD, plus it activates stop sign and speed limit on dash and HUD.

All of the nav cards will get 3yrs of updates. Download the Mazda Toolbox on your computer and it will do the rest.

 

Wait- they don't come with an SD card??
We have a 2022 preferred on order. I'm ignorant to navigation in cars, is it typical for you to need to buy your own SD card? Seems ridiculous to buy a $30,000 car and have to purchase a stupid SD card for it

 

I purchased a Turbo Signature which comes with an SD card, but it was missing. So I have to wait until it comes in from the dealer's order. Or, I was considering purchasing one because the dealer doesn't know when it's coming in due to the chip shortage.
