So it cost you $3000.00 in real money$$$ to drive the 2022 cx5 and dump it in the end. That was a smoking deal , it only cost you $250.00 a month . Better than any deal or lease in 2023 I ever saw.

car payments, or car repairs, (or live with a broken down pos) can't run from it.

I must be doing something wrong. Dealer was gonna trade me a 2020 for my CPO 2018 plus $7000. Which would have been almost $13000 for 2 years. $6000 in car payments plus the $7000 upgrade . Making it equivalent to almost $800 per month car payments.

Wouldnt let me correct typos. Original Car payment was $450 month so Would have been $15,000 in car payments for almost 2 year old car( which was 19 months old).
$8000 in car payments plus the $7000 upgrade which would have been equivalent to $800 monthly payments. Very bad deal for me.

I thought CarMax went out of business?
Do the trick is to sell at CarMax then rebuy from a dealer?

If you want to sell your car and don't want to go the private sale route, selling it to carmax or one of their competitors (depending on what they offer) will get you more money than trading a car into the dealer that you're buying a new car from.

And I'm not even going to ask about the sales tax and registration because I don't know if that is considered in this case or what the sales tax laws are in Oregon ,and truth be told I'm flat out worn out on this post and no longer give a damn. And most of all I remain dubious on the seat issue. What I do know is my 2023 CX5 carbon edition has very firm seats, and the Leather is more than likely water buffalo and not top grain cowhide. And at the price of the CX5 that's fine and to be expected. So if the OP is happy with the result ,that's all good." LET YOUR MONEY BUY YOU HAPPINESS " AND A GOOD DEAL IS A STATE OF MIND.

At least here in MA, the buyer of the vehicle has to go to the RMV and pay 6.25% sales tax on the vehicle, on top of registration, plates, and an inspection. The seller doesn't have to pay any tax on the sale. I agree that if OP is happy, then all is good.

My 2024 does this. Was yours figured out?
