2020 Security Dash light blinks continuously

Default 2020 Security Dash light blinks continuously

I understand it blinking when the car is armed, but ours is blinking even with the the car unarmed. is that normal? the owners manual isnt clear. thanks!

sorry its a 2022, not a 2020. dealer is telling me that its normal. shocked we never noticed it in 2 years and shocked it doesn't drain the battery,

Not certain what you mean by "unarmed".
The security light (on the dash panel) is the immobilizer system, and it constantly blinks.
It only turns off when the car is started and comes back on when the car is shut-off.
It is not really a part of the alarm system which can be adjusted to suit your needs.
You can disarm the alarm system so the alarm will not sound but as far as I know you cannot shut-off the immobilizer security light.

its just odd to me that the light continuously blinks even when the car is unarmed, thats all.

It has done that in every one of the vehicles listed below I've owned since the advent of the immobilizer systems.
Subaru-Hyundai-Honda-Buick-Mazda.
Even my newer Ducati motorcycles had that system which would blink for 24 hours after you shut off the motorcycle.
Because the battery is small, it would stop blinking after 24 hours but only if the motorcycle was not started.
Supposed theft deterrent???
Like a no trespassing sign
