2020 CX-5 Audio System Problem w/Volume
I have a 2020 Mazda CX-5. When I turn on the ignition, the stereo comes on and works fine. If I adjust the volume at all - up or down (with any button that adjusts volume) - the left front speaker cuts out. It doesn’t work again unless I shut off the engine and turn it back on again. This isn’t a speaker problem, as it works fine when I don’t touch the volume button. I took it to the Mazda dealership and they told me I needed a new speaker. I don’t think they found the actual issue because again - the speaker works fine until I change the volume. Has anyone else had this issue or have any recommendation about what to do? Audio repair shop or mechanic? I'm out of warranty.
Yes, sorry. It is the Bose system with center speaker.
Because BOSE it could very well then be a speaker. Bose system does not function like common systems.
You can do a simple test that will not cost you anything. Swap a known good speaker with no issues and see what happens. If the results are the same, then at that point you should throw in the towel and go to an AUDIO STERO SHOP for service. Preferably one that is an authorized dealer for BOSE components.
Hopefully for cost wise it is only the speaker because that would be cheap compared to the MAZDA stereo software and components or the BOSE amp itself.

It can easily be a speaker problem in almost any newer audio system.
My Sony home surround sound woofer works great until I shut it off.
Then I have to disconnect the speaker cable to the receiver/amp cable and reattach it for it to work again.
There is an issue with woofer control (attached to the woofer inside the woofer enclosure) which would require a whole new woofer as they don't replace just the control (and I can't find one to do it myself).
If you are under warranty than I'd go for the replacement, it'll be free.
If not under warranty you need to decide which is more important to you the cost of replacement or having a fixed volume for each ride.
