Hello,

I recently bought a 2018 certified pre-owned CX5, after a couple of weeks I started hearing a vibrating noise coming from the driver's side. The noise only happens when accelerating and it mostly happens at the 35/40mph mark. I brought the car to the Mazda dealer, they first said it was the transmission and replaced it, then they replaced the exhaust, however, they were not able to fix it and the noise is still there. They are still trying to figure out what the problem is.

The video are better then most I have seen. The sound may be coming from unsecured item under the dash. Mazda does not insulate as well as you would expect. It took me a few months to finally track down and rid my drivers side from annoying little vibrations. I zipped tied wires and also installed poly fill material. Also one of the noises was from the wiper area under the hood. It was transmitting the noise that made it appear to be coming from under the dash. Just to be sure this is not uncommon with many platforms over decades.. If you read customers surveys this is often mentioned.

 

YES! I have the same noise in my 2013 cx5 grand touring. If I flex the gas pedal it goes away which makes me believe it isn't just the heat shield rattling which is the most common answer I've received. FOLLOWING!
