Unhappy 2018 CX-5 Nav Screen bubbling or blotchy

Hi everyone,

First time poster here...

I have had limited issues with my CX-5 thus far (original owner) bought in April of 2018...I have cleaned my car dozens of time nav screen included over the last 2 1/2 year when I clean the screen I use a damp microfiber cloth that's it. The other day I get in to my car and my screen looks like this (attached). Has anybody dealt with this before? Will this be covered under the 3 year warranty? I have already inquired at the dealer but I am waiting to hear back...its pretty bad and makes no sense.

If anyone has seen this is there a way to fix it? I have read it might be the screen protector but I have no idea how or if I should look to remove that or if I even have one from the factory.

Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated!

Thanks

Jeff

I have never seen that before, but I would think it would be covered under warranty.

Do the black areas disappear and the proper display comes up when the car warms up?

Hi, not really you can see them pretty well when you have the radio screen on or any black screen. When the GPS screen is up its less noticeable but still very easy to see...its the least noticeable at night but overall its pretty distracting.

Was the protective film ever removed from the NAV screen?

That's an interesting possibility.

Hi, unless it was done before I took delivery of the car then no I have not removed any protective film...is there one on here? If it can be peeled off and then replaced that would be ideal.

You can just peel it off yourself, you don't replace it. It's a pre-delivery item like other protective films all around the car.

Hi, okay that is good to know. Do you have any links or any tips for removing the film?

Thank you
