Default 2016 CX5 GT - auxiliary jack

My 2016 CX5 GT has two USB ports but no auxiliary jack. However, the 'Smart Start Guide' describes the following:

"PORTABLE AUDIO PLAYER INTEGRATION USING THE USB PORT OR AUX JACK
Your vehicle is equipped with a USB port and auxiliary AUX jack, located below the climate control system ..."

Anyone know why some vehicles don't have the auxiliary jack and others do?

Thanks

You don't see the aux jack just to the right of the USB ports?

The aux Jack is to the right of the two USB ports. It looks like a headphone jack. If you don't have one go back to the dealer. They might ofjhipped you out of one or maybe the sport model doesn't have one but 100% sure the Touring has one and 99% sure the GT model has one

Really, that tiny hole to the right of the 2 USB ports on the touring model is an auxiliary jack to power radar detector etc. Now all I have to do is find a cord with that type of plug on one end and a splitter into two "cigarette lighter" type female ends so as to run both radar detector and GPS at the same time. Any thoughts on where to find one of those?

In case that tiny hole turns out to not be the aux jack - here is my story. Bought a 2015 CX9 GT last July. Skimmed through the manual and read about the aux jack being next to the USB ports. Saw it in the picture. Looked in the glove box and see no aux jack only a cover plate where the jack should be. Went to the dealer and the service manager scratched his head then called Mazda. Was told the aux jack has gone the way of the ash tray. They just pulled it just because we are high tech now baby! who cares if the customer smokes or only has an aux jack type connection. no more old school aux jacks. Happy if you actually have what you need and what is described in the manual.

Guess I am a cynic but I would guess they do no want me to use my Tom Tom (which gets me every where I want to go) and prefer I buy their $400 SD navigation card. But that still leaves me without a radar detector. Pissed off!!!

There are cigarette lighter 'splitters' one can purchase. I use one for a Phone charger/Radar application.

Sure it's an added expense, but it does work well. Easy to use as well.

I have cigarette lighter splitter. The problem is there is no cigarette lighter port on the car to plug into. There is one in the center arm rest but not switched so always on and very inconvenient to run wires to the dash area.

you can not power your 12v accessories through the "aux" jack. Its only for a sound input to the audio system, for example, from an earphone out jack on a cell phone plugged into the aux allows the music to play through the car speakers.

you have to use the cigarette lighter. Just run the wire down and tuck it up under the side of the center console and unplug it everytime you turn the ign. off as its Hot at all times and could potentially drain your battery if left on. Oversight by mazda, they should have put another one in front by the usb inputs
