Default 2016.5 CX-5 Touring AWD - Neutral Question

Hey guys! I've had my Mazda CX-5 for almost a year now. Nothing but great things to say about it. I just recently moved to the mountains and I usually coast down the mountain. My girlfriend tells me to put it on Neutral and just coast. My friends are saying its gonna mess my transmission. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

TRANSMISSION: 6-SPEED AUTO TRAN A
TRIM: RTR
ENGINE: 2.5L SKYACTIV G P
MILEAGE: 22,230

Just drive normally. You aren't going to save enough fuel to make it worth the bother.

Not to mention that you don't have as much control over the car when coasting and using only the brakes as opposed to having the brakes and engine braking (or acceleration for that matter) as needed.

Its incredibly dangerous to drive in neutral and have no control over the vehicle, plus its also potentially harmful to the drivetrain.

Not a smart move at all.

Never drive in neutral. You will not have time to make an emergency maneuver where you would need to floor the accelerator for example. Besides, it is illegal to drive in neutral in most States.
